CARTIER WATCHMAKING EXPERTISE

At Cartier, a watchmaker of shapes since 1853, technical know-how supports design. To train the next generation of watchmakers, the Cartier Watchmaking Institute, established in 1993, created an annual competition in 1995 dedicated to apprentice watchmakers.

THE CARTIER WATCHMAKING PRIZE

The competition invites apprentice watchmakers from Switzerland, France, Germany and Belgium to design a movement based on a chosen theme. This year, the competition is also open to ES technicians in micro-technology from watchmaking schools and training centres. There will be a total of six laureates, who will ensure the future of watchmaking.
