CARTIER WATCHMAKING EXPERTISE
Since its inception in 1993, the Cartier Watchmaking Institute has been actively committed to training the next generation of watchmakers. In 1995, this undertaking led to the creation of an annual competition for apprentice watchmakers. The trailblazing contest embodies the Maison’s determination to provide support and guidance to those wishing to embark on this thrilling career.
THE CARTIER WATCHMAKING AWARD
Every year, the contest invites watchmaking students – apprentices and microtechnology students – hailing from Switzerland, France, Germany and Belgium, to reinterpret a watchmaking movement around a defined theme. Based on sketches, texts and presentation videos, the jury, composed of watchmaking experts, chooses 12 finalists who must create their project with support from their mentor. During the prize-giving ceremony, six winners, three per category, are recognised for their technical prowess and bold creativity.
2025 EDITION
